GMAT

A jar contains only red and blue marbles in a ratio of 3:2. If there are 16 blue marbles, how many red marbles are there?

Correct answer

D. 24

Explanation

The ratio 3:2 means for every 2 blue marbles there are 3 red. 16 blue ÷ 2 = 8 groups, so red marbles = 3 × 8 = 24.
