GMAT

A jar contains only red and blue marbles in a ratio of 9:5. If there are 15 blue marbles, how many red marbles are there?

Correct answer

B. 27

Explanation

The ratio 9:5 means for every 5 blue marbles there are 9 red. 15 blue ÷ 5 = 3 groups, so red marbles = 9 × 3 = 27.
