GMAT

A jar contains only red and blue marbles in a ratio of 9:2. If there are 4 blue marbles, how many red marbles are there?

Correct answer

A. 18

Explanation

The ratio 9:2 means for every 2 blue marbles there are 9 red. 4 blue ÷ 2 = 2 groups, so red marbles = 9 × 2 = 18.
