GMAT

A jar contains only red and blue marbles in a ratio of 7:8. If there are 64 blue marbles, how many red marbles are there?

Correct answer

B. 56

Explanation

The ratio 7:8 means for every 8 blue marbles there are 7 red. 64 blue ÷ 8 = 8 groups, so red marbles = 7 × 8 = 56.
