A data set has a mean of 20 and consists of 6 numbers. If 5 of the numbers are 36, 6, 20, 10, 16, what is the remaining number?

B. 32

Explanation

Sum of all 6 numbers = mean × count = 20 × 6 = 120. Sum of the known numbers = 88. Remaining number = 120 - 88 = 32.
